When arriving at the cargo space, Flyn stopped dead in his tracks. Multiple drones were circling around his ship, stuffing even more explosives into the already bursting cargo space.
“Wait, hold on,” Qula came running after him, her face alarmed. “It’s quite alright, you see.”
“Quite alright?!”, Flyn yelled at her, multiple emotions soaring through him.
“Yes”, she explained to him with a serious expression. Then she waved her hand in front of him, and said, with the same serious expression: “These aren’t the drones you’re looking for!”
After she said this, a small smile became visible on her face, which quickly expanded into a huge grin. Flyn suddenly felt a great urge to hit her in the face with something.
“Look at you! I thought you might explode!” she managed to say in between her laughing, which Flyn thought now quite resembled the laugh of a hyena.
“You’re always having such a short fuse,” she went on, “one day it will blow up in your face!”
Flyn walked away, leaving her almost rolling over the ground. “You with your ill-timed jokes...” A small smile played about his lips.
As he focussed again, he suddenly saw that all the boxes the drones were carrying were adorned by a bright pink heart with a small golden outline. A sigh escaped Flyn’s lips. As a smuggler, he tried not be dragged into the war that had been going on for many years now. He had never chosen a side, nor did he want to now. He felt mad, therefore, at the LV’s for using his ship in their so-called campaign for love and peace. However, he found the settlements taken over by the LV’s to be more brainwashed than actually filled with love and happiness. The other side wasn’t that good either, though. The HT’s were typical conquerors; dressed in red and black they did not even feign to want to make the world a better place. When under the control of the LV’s at least you felt happiness, even though he was quite sure it was not real.
A final drone came zooming his way, carrying a lit candle. Flyn gasped. With how much explosives were crammed into his cargo space, the entire settlement would be under the control of the LV’s if that drone reached the cargo space.
He grabbed his stun gun and aimed. Miss. He tried again, and this time he actually hit the drone. The candle slipped from its grasp, and fell down into a small puddle, which quickly extinguished the flame. Flyn sighed relieved. Now that that crisis was averted, it was time to determine how to get those explosive out of his cargo space.
Apparently recovered from laughing at her own jokes, Qula came standing next to him. She was smoking a cigarette, which she was about to toss away.
“Get away from the expl-“, Flyn started, but he was not able to finish his sentence.
Suddenly, he felt himself filled with a warm feeling he hadn’t experienced in ages. He looked to his right. Qula stood there, smiling at him. It was the most beautiful smile he had ever seen. In fact, everything about her was astonishingly beautiful. Flyn suspected their children would become the most beautiful children that had ever set foot in this galaxy.
Men dressed in pink suits and wearing weird masks pushed him, along with many other villagers, towards a sterile white building. He didn’t care. He felt happier than he had ever been. Above their heads, the drones were circling around each other in one big mating dance.
